Stop & Shop to celebrate 100-year anniversary with free cake and balloons
On September 6, Stop & Shop customers can join in centennial celebrations as the grocery chain rings in its 100th year with free cake and balloons. The grocery chain, which began in Somerville in 1914, now stretches from Rhode Island to New Jersey.
Though the grocery chain’s official anniversary is September 6, Stop & Shop has been building up to the date all summer with centennial-centric promotions including foods with retro packaging, 100th Anniversary-themed reusable bags and a summer concert series at the chain’s New England headquarters in Quincy.
